I drove past my neighbor's house for two years and saw a vintage trailer parked in his back yard. I often wondered what it looked like inside, or what it would be like to own one of those little cuties. One day, there was a for sale on it. I snatch it up right then and there. Like you...I had the "Happy Camper" vibe and when I saw the original pink stove..I was a gonner. Good luck in your quest for your little gem. It's an itch that can't be scratched.

There's a great story behind this, although it's best shared privately! As for the actual creation, it was all done in Adobe Illustrator. The vintage sketched vector donkey was a freebie. I took that and added the jester garb, which I drew myself with a stylus. The text is a great font, I believe called "SchoolHouse," or something of the sort, and included the old notebook lines. Added quotes are a different font, a common one although the name escapes me. I have hundreds of fonts and it gets bewildering. (Although Amen for Creative Commons sharing.) It's signed "Another Hoffmark Production," which is a throwback to what I used to write on stuff I made circa late 90s to early 00s. Had it on the shelf and decided to dust it off for irony's sake, in addition to not wanting to have my name placed directly below the donkey.

I absolutely agree with you about suspense over gore. The best horror films are frightening, not just gross. Mothman really truly frightened me, watching it alone in the dark of my bedroom. The silhouettes of the stranger made him far more intimidating than if they simply showed him. For me, it's zombie films that really eek me out. I'm not even sure why, but Return of the Living Dead, with all its camp still gave me a nightmare. But I watch them anyway. There was a scene in Romero's Dawn of the Dead when the guy on the roof across the street was clearly becoming a zombie - the signs he was writing were his only form of communication. We learned he had been bitten and was changing when the last sign he wrote consisted of the smearing of blood on the blank sign - he even held it up for the others to see. This scene scared the wits out of me. Even Shaun of the Dead, a fantastic comedy, gave me the willies.

I love horror as well, as long as it's creative and truly frightening.

The Fourth Kind is one that I would add to this list, only its attempt to make itself a documentary was far too transparent to take seriously. In its earnest attempt to be taken seriously, it sabotaged itself, even though a few scenes were genuinely terrifying in a theater.
